Speeding Update..

I have written about speeding many times but have just received a recent report, in italics below, about Police Enforcement which reinforces the Voluntary Speed-Watch teams activity. It is speeding data collected by Volunteer SW Teams that enables the Police to target where they deploy their Traffic Teams to best effect. Durrington needs more volunteers and I am aware that Amesbury is crying out for more support so come on don’t just moan about speeding, get out and do something positive about it!

Enforcement caught 18 vehicles speeding on 6 October 2025 in Durrington, on Larkhill Road. This stretch of road has a clearly displayed speed limit of 30mph. The fastest vehicle was captured travelling at 42mph. On the day in question, it was bright and roads were dry. Depending on previous convictions and history, 18 drivers will be offered a speed awareness course
