Great Days Out for Less: Our Community Passes Prove a Hit
Durrington Town Council's Community Passes scheme has settled in well since launch, giving families across Durrington and Larkhill an affordable way to enjoy days out. Each pass gives one day's entry to a chosen attraction at a fraction of the usual price. The passes on offer all year round!
£5 Outburst Soft Play, Salisbury entry for up to 3 children, adults free
£5 Cholderton Rare Breeds Farm entry 2 adults/2 children, under 2s free
£10 Museum of Army Flying, Middle Wallop entry 2 adults / 3 children
FREE National Trust — tickets available; entry for 2 adults and 3 children,
Passes can be bought from Durrington Village Hall, open 10am–12 noon every morning, Tuesday to Friday Residents should bring photo ID and proof of address and are asked to check that an attraction is open before travelling. Pick the day you want to go and come and see the office staff if its free you can purchase the day pass.
Given how well the scheme has been received, the Council is pleased to keep it running and would love to see even more local families using it.
A Busy Year of Projects — And More to Come
Completed this year so far
• Village Hall: redecoration in a fresh new colour scheme with new stage curtains on order, the courtyard cleared ready for a new storage container, and the sound system upgraded — soon it will have Bluetooth capacity for hirers to use. A new water pipe has also been laid under the car park.
• Recreation Ground: new path lighting installed to make crossing the Rec safer on winter evenings
• River Park: the river park path has been repaired and is settling well in the wet weather
• Tree Surgery: unsafe trees removed
Our priorities for the rest of 2026: The Council's main focus before the end of the year is to refurbish the toilets at the Pavilion, replace the water heater in the Village Hall kitchen, and begin work on a new pump track at the Recreation Ground — by far our biggest project yet.
The Pump Track project: the Council is excited to be taking forward this ongoing project, which it hopes will be finished this year.
We're also looking further ahead to future years, with cemetery path repairs, extra parking at the Pavilion, and new fencing for the allotments and tennis courts all being considered.
