DURRINGTON CENOTAPH GETS AN UPLIFT.

Pictured are Stephen and Nick whilst working on the posts.

.After months of suffering the damage caused to our Cenotaph by poor drivers and the difficulty in sourcing suitable replacement corner posts, I was approached by 2 willing parishioners who volunteered to repair the badly damaged chain link supports and 1914 - 2014 PLAQUE. They didn't stop there. The paved blocks and metal work were then jet washed and left ready to repaint. To top it off the Northeast post now boasts a new metal round ball, which has been missing for years.  On behalf of our community, I thank Stephen Turner and Nick Richardson for their community spirit in getting the Cenotaph back to pristine condition.

Cllr Graham Wright

‘Stop Press’ the Town Council have also repainted the black metal work.
